Tobacco Road Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

And for dinner, Deb picked up this quite cheap Cab Sav from the local. Made with (I think) fruit from the King Valley Vic and Coonawarra SA, this wine opened to a pretty competent bouquet of blackberries, cabernet leaf, mint, capsicum some pepper and cedar. After some decanting time it did settle down to quite a soft palate of smooth fruits and dusty but fine tannins. Mouth feel, length and finish were quite good, with only a little rogue acidity threatening things. Overall I was quite impressed with this cab sav, which showed pretty good value at $13. Not bad at all.
50+4+13+17+7 = 91/100
