Concha Y Toro Casillerro del Diablo Carménère 2005

More wine from this maker. Carménère is a grape I am sure I have never tried so had to give it a go. Really a blend of 85% Carménère, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Syrah, the bouquet was an array of pureed berries and plum, with hints of milk chocolate, coffee and some spice. The palate was light-medium in body, with more pureed fruits and quite soft and rounded tannins. It was well balanced, and finished quite soft and dry. Lacked a little depth but quite an enjoyable and easy drinking red.
50+4+13+16+7 = 90/100
