3. Vasse Felix Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 (WINNER)

Jumping over to WA, this wine opened to a superb bouquet of blackcurrant, red currants, dark chocolate, mint and herbs. The palate was rich with berry fruits built into soft, savoury drying tannins, minerals and fine acid. Length and finish were long and rich. Overall this wine impressed most tasters and was made the winner. Superb.
