Yalumba Y Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

My first (I think) red from the Y series range fromYalumba, this Cab Sav had a fairly sharp but promising bouquet of blackberries, plum, mocha, mint and mild spices. On the palate acidity was a little volotile, which was distracting, as underneath the wine seemed to be quite confident and well made. With reasonable tannins and dry finish, the acidity did discredit this wine. Not such a loss at $11 though.
