De Bortoli Sero Chardonnay Pinot Grigio 2005
Made from fruit from the King Valley, this odd blend initially had aromas of a chardonnay, with pear, smoke and cream, but changed quickly to green apple, pineapples and soft hints of stone and white pepper. On the palate it was relatively full, soft and round, with acidity balanced and quite a nice dry finish. As a blend it did flip between the two varieties, not really fully integrating to become something distinctive. Otherwise it was quite a nice easy drinking white, and pretty good value at $12.
