Tyrrell's Reserve Belford Semillon 1998
Another gift from my parents, took this to xmas drinks at Simon and Hiekes, with hopes it doing better than the 1999 vintage I had some months ago. Initially again, seemed locked up somewhat, with aromas of lime, lemon, (burnt) toast and lanolin. On the palate it was quite old fashioned and rounded, with tight citruss sourness and minerality. Again I was disapointed with this semillon, and think that no amount of ageing could improve it. Simply overrated.
