Domaine des Hauts de Montgenas 1999
Under the AOC Fleurie, and made by Moillard-Grivot, this Cru du Beaujolais from Fleurie seemed by its appearance stewed. Cloudy crimson in colour, the bouquet held strawberry, cherry, earth and honey. The palate was soft cherries, honey and soft tannins. It was well balanced, with a medium to light body and nice soft finish. Perhaps a bit old or rustic for a Beaujolais, but still a delightful and elegant wine.
