Vavasour Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2006
From the Awatere Valley, this SB had a crystal pale green gold colour. On the bouquet it held quite fresh aromas of gooseberry, passionfruit flower, grass and a touch of vanilla. The palate was crisp citrus, with a soft powdery minerality and long dry flinty finish. Nicely poised and well balanced, and while I am a little bored with NZ SB's, this one has piqued my interest again for them. Really lovely drinking.
