Twofold Clare Valley Riesling 2004
From the Clare Valley SA, this riesling was pale green gold, with a bouquet of lime, talc, white pepper, slate and a glint of vegetable, maybe asparagus or cabbage? On the palate it held clean white fruits, with a nice minerality, powdery dry mouthfeel with a warming length and clean finish. This has individuality, attributable to perhaps the terroir, which is to be encouraged. A good mid priced riesling, maybe not the best around, but there is a lot of great cheap riesling in this country at the moment.
