Concha Y Toro Casillerro del Diablo Shiraz 2004
Having been impressed by Casillero del Diablo Sav Blanc, and Viognier, I decided to give one of their reds a try. On the nose initially quite pongy, with spice, plum, pepper and oak. It blew off somewhat after a good decanting, but became less interesting. Thin bodied, and not much length, there was nothing about this Chilean shiraz that could qualify it replacing an Australian shiraz, even a cheap one. Far less impressive and value than their whites, and an Australian shiraz for that matter.
50+4+10+10+5 = 80/100
