Telmo Rodriguez Gaba do Xil Godello Valdeorras DDO 2005
This white from Valdeorras Spain was made from Godello, a grape variety native to Galicia, of which I have never heard or tasted. The bouquet displayed aromas of spicy pear, pineapple, cashews, herbs and flowers, possibly marigolds. The palate was quite light and fine, with clean fruit and a herbaceous savoury finish. Fairly light overall, and reminded me of a cross between Verdelho and Soave. A very finely crafted light table white which would work well with white meats.
