Hardys Siegersdorf Rhine Riesling 1997
Golden yellow in colour, this riesling from SA had aromas of green apple, citrus, pear and sweet nougat and a touch of smoke. On the palate it was soft and rounded, reminiscent of an aged semillon. It retained good acidity for its age, and held good length and finish. An old fashioned riesling, reminding me also of the 1965 vouvray we had recently.
