Picked this up on speacial for $10 as well as the great
Sangiovese, hoping to get a bit of a bargain. Good aroma of cherries, strawberries, spice, sap and a little earth. On the palate it was on the lighter end of a pinot, with fairly bright fruit, sap and decent sourish finish. No great complexity or distinction, but definitely a bargain priced pinot, which doesn't confuse or fail. Probably worth cellaring for a couple of years.
