Michel Laroche Viognier 2002
A Vin de Pays D'Oc from Beziers, Languedoc, this Viognier had a lovely bouquet of soft pineapple, peach, softened spiced apricot and wet stone. On the palate it was tight and minerally, with tropical fruits, and a supple grippy finish. It reminded me of the finesse of a Condrieu, without the complexity. Overall this is a great cheap Viognier. If only we could craft cheap Viogniers like this in Australia.
