Viu Manent Malbec Reserve 1999

Some Malbec, this one from Chile. Opened to quite a dry savory bouquet of blackcurrant, smoky oak, coffee and a touch of vanilla. On the palate it was quite lean in body, with some mineral and drying tannins dominating the fruit, but in quite a nice way. Medium in length and quite a drying finish. Quite a lean and dry red which is quite easy drinking. Not bad.
