Portone Valpolicella 2005
Had to try this, after my fondness for their Soave. Opened to quite a fruity bouquet of cherries, spice and some plums. On the palate it was a bit grapey, with acidity running a little fast. But it did manage to blow off a little and settle, and did mananged to work better with some food. Not a great example of the style, but still it was cheap at $9.00. I think their Soave is far better value, and not a patch on other valpolicella's Ive had.
