Annie's Lane Clare Valley Rose 2006
At Deb's request, I picked up some rose, this one from Annie's Lane who's rieslings are pretty outstanding. A vibrant deep fuscia, this shiraz based rose opened to aromas of cherries, strawberries, apple, red-currants and a little mint lurking. On the palate it was quite juicy and fresh, with balanced acidity and softly gripping mouthfeel. One thing it did lack was length, and the finish could have been a bit tighter. But a pretty good attempt. A bit overpriced at $21 though.
