I was hoping to save this Burgundy for Christmas, but circumstances called for it to be opened. On the nose were
aromas of ripe cherries,
lavender, sweet musk, licorice, beetroot juice, tomato and some pepper. On the palate it was superbly balanced with silky tannins, soft fruits and light minerals. Overall a very interesting and elegant Burgundy, which was a little faded around the edges but still excellent drinking. Drink now.
