Schloss Saarstein Serriger Rielsing Auslese 2003

For our aperitif, went for a Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, this one being a mid-sweet Auslese. On the bouquet were some lovely aromas of honey, peach, pear, slate and mineral. On the palate it was quite intense and pure, but lean and very in control. Wonderful intense Noble sweet fruits, over cool slate and soft mineral. Lovely balance and long finish. All up quite a wine, probably better as a light dessert wine. Excellent.
