Château Maucamps Haut-Medoc 2005
For dinner I opened this Haut-Medoc, made from a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. On the bouquet were aromas of blueberry, blackberry, coffee, mineral and a touch of leather. The palate was rich and decently weighty, with ripe tannins and a savoury dry finish. Was a little straightforward, but still quite an enjoyable wine. Would do possibly well with further cellaring.
